THK SPR Series Super-Low Waving Caged Ball LM Guide
The THK SPR Series is a caged ball LM Guide built with eight raceway grooves and small-diameter balls. Doubling the number of grooves halves the load on each ball, letting the SPR Series achieve super-low waving down to a nanoscopic scale, comparable to hydrostatic guides. This series also uses ultra-long blocks. Packing in more balls spreads the load further, reducing compression on each ball and pushing rigidity even higher than what a roller guide can offer.
The SPR Series is effective for radial loads, where force is applied perpendicular to the shaft. This makes it a strong fit for the stroke of heavy machines that need both high precision and long-term, maintenance-free reliability.
There’s one model variant, SPR-LR, with an ultra long block and bolts mounted from above. Sizes range from 15 to 45, with basic dynamic load ratings from 22.5 kN to 178 kN and basic static load ratings from 58.2 kN to 434 kN.
