THK KS and BS Die-Setting Ball Cage LM Stroke
The THK LM Stroke is a finite stroke linear guide that supports rotational motion, reciprocating motion, or a mix of both, using a rolling mechanism. Since it has an extremely low coefficient of friction, it gives you a compact, high precision guide at a low cost, which works well across a wide range of precision motion applications.
The KS and BS Models are die setting ball cage types built for high durability and a long service life in finite stroke setups. They pack in a large number of high precision steel balls that meet JIS B 1501 standards, with a sphericity difference of just 0.0005mm, all held in a lightweight, high rigidity ball cage.
The balls sit in a spiral pattern around the cage, which stops the ball raceways from overlapping and cuts down wear significantly. The ball pockets are precision finished and continuously caulked using THK’s own process, so balls don’t drop out and the cage still moves smoothly even when it’s longer than the housing itself.
These die setting ball cage models get used often in precision press die sets, spinning and weaving machines, precision measuring instruments, automatic recorders, medical equipment, and various machine tools, wherever high durability, smooth motion, and reliable performance are needed.
