THK SHS Series Caged Ball LM Guide
The THK SHS Series is a caged ball LM Guide built to THK’s global standard size. Each row of balls sits at a 45° contact angle, which means the guide can be used in any orientation.
Balls roll through four rows of raceways that are precision ground on both the LM rail and the LM block. Ball cages and end plates inside the block keep the balls circulating smoothly. Because the load ratings are balanced across all four directions, the block can take on a well-balanced preload. This raises rigidity while keeping friction low and consistent.
The SHS Series also uses THK’s self-adjustment capability. A front-to-front arrangement of circular-arc grooves allows the guide to absorb mounting errors, even under preload, so you still get accurate, smooth linear motion.
There are 6 model variants to choose from, covering flanged and non-flanged types, standard and long block options, and different bolt mounting positions. Sizes range from 15 to 65. Depending on the model, basic dynamic load ratings run from 14.2 kN to 253 kN, and basic static load ratings run from 24.2 kN to 408 kN.
A stainless steel version is also available for sizes 15 to 25, with the LM block, LM rail, and balls all made of stainless steel.
