THK SCR Series Cross Caged Ball LM Guide
The THK SCR Series is a cross-type caged ball LM Guide. It uses two rails intersecting at right angles, integrated back-to-back into a single block, sharing the same internal structure as THK’s proven SHS Series. Because this orthogonal LM system can be built with just the SCR Series alone, there’s no need for a conventional saddle. This simplifies X-Y motion and allows for a more compact overall structure, saving space compared to traditional setups.
Each row of balls sits at a 45° contact angle, giving the SCR Series a four-way equal load structure. This keeps load ratings even across radial, reverse-radial, and lateral directions, so the guide can be used in any orientation across a wide range of applications. Since the balls are well balanced across four rows, the SCR Series handles moment loads well and delivers smooth linear motion even under preload. Its rigidity is actually higher than combining two standard LM blocks bolted back-to-back, making it a strong choice for building high rigidity X-Y tables.
The SCR Series is available with bolts mounted from above, in sizes ranging from 15 to 65. Basic dynamic load ratings run from 14.2 kN to 253 kN, and basic static load ratings run from 24.2 kN to 408 kN.
