THK RSX Series Miniature Full-Ball LM Guide
The THK RSX Series is a full-ball LM Guide built with two rows of raceways instead of the usual four. This gives it more compact outer dimensions than standard models, helping reduce the overall size of a device. Even with this compact design, its ball contact structure can still take loads from multiple directions, so it works well as a single axis guide in locations where moment loads are applied.
Balls roll through the two raceways, which are precision-ground on the LM rail and LM block, and end plates inside the block let the balls circulate smoothly. With one raceway on each side, the LM rail keeps a low cross-sectional height, making the RSX Series a great fit for installations with limited space. The LM rail, LM block, and balls are all made of stainless steel, giving the RSX Series strong corrosion resistance. It also includes a ball-retaining wire that keeps the balls from falling out when the LM block is removed from the rail, which makes mounting easier.
Since the RSX Series uses Gothic-arch grooves, precision errors on the mounting surface can affect how well it operates. THK recommends using it on mounting surfaces built with high precision to get the best results.
There are 6 model variants, covering standard, wide, and long block options, all with bolts mounted from above. Sizes range from 5 to 25, with basic dynamic load ratings from 0.37 kN to 16.5 kN and basic static load ratings from 0.53 kN to 25.2 kN, depending on the model.
