ST Series LM Stroke
The LM Stroke is a finite-stroke linear guide that enables rotational motion, reciprocating motion, or a combination of both using a rolling mechanism. With an extremely low coefficient of friction, it delivers a compact, high-precision guide mechanism at low cost, making it suitable for a wide range of precision motion applications.
The ST Model LM Stroke incorporates both a ball cage and precision balls inside a precision-ground cylindrical nut. The balls are arranged in a staggered pattern to evenly distribute loads. The ball cage is a drilled cage made from a lightweight, high-rigidity alloy, enabling high-speed motion. To prevent overshooting, a thrust ring and snap ring are installed on both sides of the nut’s inner surface.
This structure allows rotational motion, reciprocating motion, and combined motion with very low friction. The stroke length can reach up to twice the travel range of the ball cage inside the nut. Offering high accuracy at low cost, the ST model is widely used in applications such as press die sets, printing machine ink roll units, punching press chucks, press feeders, EDM work heads, roll correctors, textile machinery, distortion measuring equipment, optical measuring instrument spindles, and photocopiers.
