NPM gLESS Magnetic Counterbalance System

The Nippon Pulse Motor (NPM) gLESS Magnetic Counterbalance System is designed to provide gravity compensation for vertical Z-axis applications. It helps prevent a shaft motor from dropping when power is switched off.

The gLESS uses a special magnetic arrangement to generate an almost constant thrust throughout its operating stroke. Its non-contact design provides stable movement and maintenance-free operation. Low magnetic flux leakage also allows it to be installed close to shaft motors and magnetic encoders. The range includes GLS-130, GLS-180 and GLS-260 models. Thrust ranges from 2.66 N to 19.6 N, with a 40 mm operating stroke. The stator diameters are 13 mm, 18 mm and 26 mm.

The gLESS can help reduce the required shaft motor size, power consumption and heat generation. It is suitable for vertical linear motion systems, automation equipment and Z-axis applications.
