THK SKR Series Caged Ball LM Guide Actuator
The THK SKR Series is a compact actuator with an inner block that integrates LM Guide blocks and a ball screw nut inside a U-shaped outer rail. Using ball cages in both the LM Guide units and the ball screw unit gives it higher speed operation, lower noise, and longer maintenance-free operation compared to THK’s full-ball type Model KR. It supports the latest high-rotation servomotors at up to 6,000 min⁻¹, and models SKR33, SKR55, and SKR65 come in more lead variations for higher speed operation than the KR Series allows.
Because the LM Guide units sit on both side faces of the inner block with the ball screw unit in the center, the SKR Series achieves a highly rigid, highly accurate actuator in a minimal footprint. The housings also double as support units and the inner block as the table, cutting down design and assembly time considerably.
