SMAC Linear Actuators

SMAC linear actuators are programmable electric actuators built for automated manufacturing, packaging, assembly, and inspection applications. Based on SMAC’s moving coil technology, each unit gives you full control over force, position, velocity, and acceleration, with real-time feedback included as standard.

The range comes in several series to suit different needs. The LCA Series is very compact, starting from just 8mm in height, making it a good fit for electronics pick and place. It scales up to 90N peak force for higher-speed work. The LAL Series is SMAC’s original family, with strokes from 5mm to 150mm and forces up to 500N. The LBL Series is built for speed, reaching accelerations above 50G. The LDL Series is the most affordable option and works as a direct drop-in replacement for pneumatic cylinders.

Standard encoder resolution is 5 micrometres, with options down to 0.1 micrometres for applications needing finer feedback. SMAC’s Soft-Land feature lets the actuator make gentle, controlled contact with a surface before applying force, which protects delicate parts. All models are rated for over 100 million cycles.
