Sanyo Denki SANMOTION S Spindle Motor AC Servo System

The Sanyo Denki SANMOTION S is an AC servo system that combines an AC spindle motor with a dedicated servo amplifier. It is designed for high-speed spindle rotation while maintaining high torque at low speeds. The SANMOTION S range includes 160 mm square spindle motors with continuous rated outputs of 3.2 kW and 4.5 kW. The motors have base speeds of 1,500 rpm and 3,000 rpm, respectively, and use incremental encoders.

The system uses a 150 A servo amplifier with either Analog/Pulse or EtherCAT interface. The amplifier supports position, speed, torque and orientation control with sine-wave PWM control.

SANMOTION S is designed for spindle applications such as machine tools that require high-speed rotation and precise synchronised tapping with the feed axis. It helps improve machining performance and equipment productivity.
