Miki Pulley Brake Motors
Miki Pulley Brake Motors build a brake right into general purpose induction motors, without changing their outside dimensions. Depending on the model, you can get either a non excitation brake or an excitation brake with a compact power supply built in. Motors with the non excitation brake are meant for safety uses, like holding position during a power outage, while the excitation brake versions are meant more for general control purposes. They cover output from 0.2 kW up to 3.7 kW.
There are three main types available. Motors with an excitation operated brake add an electromagnetically actuated brake for stopping the motor when needed. Motors with a self excited brake use a holding brake that works without power, so it stays engaged if power is lost. There’s also a version that combines both a clutch and a brake in one motor, giving you a simpler setup for drive and control in a single unit instead of wiring separate components together.
