Miki Pulley Spring-Actuated Brakes
Miki Pulley Spring-Actuated Brakes work by clamping a plate shaped rotor, which is secured to the shaft, using the force of springs or permanent magnets. When current flows through, it creates an electromagnetic force that overcomes the spring, releasing the shaft. Once power cuts off, the spring takes over again and applies the brake right away. This makes it useful for holding equipment in place when the power is off and as a safety mechanism during outages.
The lineup covers three main types. Braking models, including the BXW(L) and BXL, are built for braking during operation, such as emergency stops in the event of a power failure. Retention models, which include the BXW[H], BXW[R], BXW[S], BXR[LE], BXR, and BXH, are designed for applications where the equipment needs to stay stationary. Permanent magnet brakes, like the High Torque Line, use the magnetic pull of permanent magnets to hold the brake in place instead of relying on springs.
