THK SB & SA1 Spherical Plain Bearing

The THK SB & SA1 Spherical Plain Bearing is a self-aligning plain bearing designed for heavy loads. Both models use hardened and ground high-carbon chromium bearing steel for the inner and outer rings. A phosphate coating helps improve resistance to corrosion and wear. The sliding surfaces are also treated with molybdenum disulfide (MoS₂).

The bearings can handle large radial loads and thrust loads in both directions. They also have high resistance to impact loads, making them suitable for low-speed, heavy-load rocking applications such as cylinder clevises, machinery hinges and truck suspensions.

The SB model has wide spherical contact areas for heavy-load applications. The SA1 model has a smaller width and thickness, making it suitable where installation space is limited. Sealed SA1-UU versions are also available.
