NPM Motionnet

Nippon Pulse Motor (NPM) Motionnet is a high-speed serial communication system for factory automation and motion control. It uses dedicated G9000 Series LSIs to manage communication between controllers, motors, drivers and I/O devices.

Motionnet operates at up to 20 Mbps and supports up to 64 local devices. For motor control, the system supports up to 64 axes with point-to-point positioning, linear interpolation and circular interpolation. It uses RS-485 half-duplex communication with a maximum cable length of 100 m.

The system reduces the processing load on the host CPU because most communication is handled by the dedicated LSI. It also supports motors, controllers and drivers from different manufacturers, allowing flexible system configurations and reuse of existing equipment.

Motionnet is designed for semiconductor and inspection equipment, production machinery, medical equipment, assembly systems and other industrial automation applications. NPM also provides the technical documentation without a separate licence requirement.
