THK NAST / RNAST Series Separable Type Roller Follower

A roller follower is a compact, high-rigidity bearing system that incorporates needle rollers and is used as a guide roller for cam plates or linear tracks. Because the outer ring rotates while maintaining direct contact with the mating surface, the roller follower features a thick-walled outer ring designed to withstand impact and shock loads.

Inside the outer ring, needle rollers retained by a precision cage ensure accurate guidance, prevent skewing, and deliver smooth, stable rotation, even at high rotational speeds. Roller followers are available in separable and non-separable types, as well as with spherical or cylindrical outer ring profiles. Spherical outer rings help absorb shaft misalignment and reduce uneven loading.

Roller followers are widely used in cam mechanisms of automatic and dedicated machines, as well as transfer systems, conveyors, bookbinding machines, machining-center tool changers, pallet changers, coating machines, and automated warehouse equipment.
