THK SSR Series Radial Type Caged Ball LM Guide
The THK SSR Series is a radial type caged ball LM Guide. It has a compact design with a low cross-sectional height, and its balls contact the raceway at 90° in the radial direction. This makes it a great fit for horizontal guide units. Balls roll through four rows of precision-ground raceways on the LM rail and LM block. Ball cages and end plates inside the block keep the balls circulating smoothly. Because the cage removes friction between the balls and holds grease better, the SSR Series runs quietly, handles high speeds well, and needs little maintenance over the long term. Its ball contact structure is built to handle large radial loads. This keeps radial displacement to a minimum, so the guide delivers stable, highly accurate motion even under load.
The SSR Series also uses THK’s self-adjustment capability. A front-to-front arrangement of circular-arc grooves lets it absorb mounting errors even under preload, giving you smooth, accurate linear motion.
There are 4 model variants, covering flanged and non-flanged types, standard and short block options, and bolts mounted from above or below. Sizes range from 15 to 35. Basic dynamic load ratings run from 9.1 kN to 64.6 kN, and basic static load ratings run from 9.7 kN to 71.6 kN, depending on the model.
A stainless steel version is also available, with the LM block, LM rail, and balls all made of stainless steel.
