THK GSR Series Separate Type Full-Ball LM Guide
The THK GSR Series is a full-ball LM Guide with a separate rail design. Balls roll through two rows of raceways, precision-ground on the LM rail and LM block, and end plates inside the block let the balls circulate. Retainer plates hold the balls in place, so they don’t fall off.
Since the top face of the LM block is inclined, clearance is eliminated and preload is applied simply by securing the block with mounting bolts. The GSR Series also uses a special contact structure with circular-arc grooves, giving it a larger self-adjustment capability. This makes it a good fit for locations where achieving high mounting accuracy is difficult, or for general industrial machinery. Note that Model GSR cannot be used in single-axis applications.
The ball contact angle is designed so this model can receive load from any direction. This means it can be used where reverse-radial load, lateral load, or moment loads occur, in any orientation. Because the LM block and LM rail are interchangeable and can be stored separately, you can keep a long-size LM rail on hand and cut it to the length you need before use. With its low center of gravity and low overall height, the GSR Series also helps keep machine designs compact.
There are two model types. Model GSR-T has bolts mounted from above, in sizes 15 to 35, with basic dynamic load ratings from 8.42 kN to 37 kN. Model GSR-V is a short block type with bolts mounted from above, in sizes 15 to 25, with basic dynamic load ratings from 6.51 kN to 15.5 kN.
